Is coolbrandz a Brandchamp?

As you already know, one of the aims of coolbrands is to break down the Rösti barrier and demolish the Gothard tunnel. But it’s not always as easy as you might think. As a result, any information to come out of cool German-speaking Switzerland, the trendy canton of Grisons or top-class Ticino doesn’t always get to us straight away in cool French-speaking Switzerland, and vice versa.

As the saying goes: “If the mountain won’t come to Mohammed, then Mohammed must go to the mountain”. And so we recently discovered Brandchamp in Zurich, a social branding experiment devised by Rolando Baron.

Unfortunately, up until now it is only available in German, but we think it’s nonetheless an amazingly cool idea. No words are needed, just an intuitive click and there you have it. Brandchamp is a championship for cool Swiss brands. In this case, it’s not the economic importance of the brand that matters, but the extent to which you, the users and fans of the brand, make it important. Which you can do simply by clicking on the brand logo. And so you make ‘em big!

‘Yeah, Migros’ll win!’, we hear you cry. But no, not necessarily. The size of a Brandchamp brand depends just as much on its Facebook fans to employees ratio, as it does on click behaviour on the Brandchamp site.

Up until now, only the minor German-speaking Swiss brands have been taking part. French and Italian coolbranders can nevertheless easily swing the trend: all you need do is to tell your favourite local brand to sign up with Rolando Baron ringrichter@brandchamp.ch, then vote for your brand.

In this way, not only are you helping to improve recognition for your brand in other-language speaking areas, but you are also helping Brandchamp to learn French and Italian, because Rolando Baron himself will be presenting the new Brandchamp brands in a series of interviews on ‘Brandchamp TV’. Which means that if there are enough French and Italian brands, he’ll soon have to starting giving interviews in a language other than German. ;-)

In other news, coolbrands is also taking part in Brandchamp, the Swiss brand championship. So take a leap over the Röstigraben, cross the Gothard tunnel, click on our logo at www.brandchamp.ch and make us BIG!

  1. I love your motivating introduction to Brandcamp and wish you all the luck in Switzerland – regardless of which side of the Röstigraben or Gotthard tunnel said luck is located!
